Mark works at
SAP, the world's largest business application
software company, and the world's third-largest software vendor overall, with more than
30,000 customers in 120 countries around the
world.
In his job, Mark leads a team that helps to build a thriving ecosystem
for SAP and its large community of developers,
enterprise architects, technologists,
business process experts,
and partners (SIs and ISVs) to benefit each other and their customers for mutual
success.
The focus of Mark's team is on collaborative virtual
communities where nearly one million experts from 120 countries and more
than 100 territories around the world share best practices and their
experience thru an extensive
library of articles,
downloads,
whitepapers, and eLearning
resources, keep up-to-date through a newsletter with a quarter-of-a-million
bi-weekly subscribers, co-innovate online via
discussion forums,
blogs,
webinars, and a
wiki, and then solidify
and extend those connections in the physical world of
events such as the SAP
NetWeaver
Technology Tour series (50 cities around the world, attracting more than
10,000 total attendees) and
SAP TechEd (four
major conferences, on three continents, with a total of 17,000 attendees).
Recent History: Oracle, PeopleSoft, Sun
Microsystems
Previously, Mark led Web
Marketing at Oracle (the world's second-largest software company), which included responsibility for
Oracle.com, the Oracle Technology Network (OTN),
the Oracle Partner Network (OPN),
and MyOracle -- the employee intranet.
Just prior, Mark managed
PeopleSoft.com (the company was
subsequently acquired by Oracle).
Before that, Mark was VP of Marketing &
Strategy at Sun Microsystems, along with
several other positions -- such as Senior Director of eBusiness -- during
his 6+ years at Sun.
Earlier, Mark spent 9+ years at
Unisys Corporation, primarily in
field and headquarters Marketing and early Internet/Web roles in
Philadelphia and northern New Jersey.
Mark's first job after college was at
The Prudential -- in
regional Marketing and Sales Promotion roles.
